Empire’s latest issue targets some killer Bad Times at the El Royale covers

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In anticipation of the release of BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE, Empire has debuted two stylish covers dedicated to Drew Goddard's next ensemble savvy thriller. Both covers (and the magazine itself, obviously) will be hitting shelves on September 6th, as a part of Empire's Ultimate Autumn Preview showcase. The first cover features Jeff Bridges' Father Daniel Flynn, Chris Hemsworth's Billy Lee, and Jon Hamm's Laramie Seymour Sullivan grouped at the center of a rain-soaked parking lot outside the mysterious hotel. The second cover has Bridges, Hemsworth, and Hamm in bad company with Cynthia Erivo's Darlene Sweet and Dakota Johnson's Emily Summerspring posing for a pulpy Grindhouse-like presentation.

In BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE, seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe's El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption – before everything goes to hell.

The upcoming thriller is directed and written by Drew Goddard (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, LOST, THE MARTIAN) and stars an incredibly cool cast comprised of Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jeff Bridges, Lewis Pullman, Cailee Spaeny, Manny Jacinto, Cynthia Erivo, among others.
