Talk about a bummer…
Just as we were salivating over the potential heat of an armless Charlize Theron in FURY ROAD, it seems we may not see the sucker for a long, long time. Word is production on George Miller’s 4th MAD MAX film has been delayed indefinitely…this coming on the heels of another start date pushback this past July (due to torrential rainfall). The reason for the new impasse? The budget…
The Australian reports “The delay has left many major film crew members without work amid fears the high Australian dollar could ultimately kill the film as its budget grows.” As a result, shooting has been delayed from February 2011, to February 2012 at the earliest.
Of course, shooting back-to-back 3D action flicks is gonna cost a pretty penny. Perhaps, instead of making FURY ROAD and FURIOSA consecutively, Miller and company may want to toss all their financial eggs into FURY ROAD basket, see how it performs…then come back to do FURIOSA. Might save some cheddar…
FURY ROAD is set to star Charlize Theron (below), Tom Hardy, Teresa Palmer (rumored), Zoe Kravitz, Nicolas Hoult, Riley Keough and Adelaide Clemens.
