Eva Green comments on Sin City poster controversy; see the revised poster

Last week, the MPAA banned the Eva Green character poster for SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR due to the amount of nudity visible. Having seen the poster and permanently stored it in my memory banks, I can say with certainty that there was no nudity, just the visible curve of Ms. Green’s breasts and the hint of her nipple. Fans were obviously outraged at the puritanical nature of the banning by the MPAA since there are much worse.

Now, a newly revised poster has been shared by Page Six and it is barely different from the original. The changes include Eva Green‘s nipple is now airbrushed out and the robe is no longer as sheer. Really, MPAA? That is all that was needed? The poster is still just as sexy as it was before. I highly doubt anyone will be less aroused now that we cannot see a tiny bit of nip protrusion.

Eva Green herself has spoken out regarding the “controversy” to Vanity Fair.

“Oh, my God, I heard about that,” she said of the uproar. “I find it a bit odd. It seems like it’s all just publicity—a lot of noise for nothing. You have so many more violent things in the movie business and this is kind of soft. I’m not naked. It’s suggested. I find it really sexy, actually. It’s kind of beautiful. But if it shocks people, I don’t know what to do about it. I don’t want to upset anybody.”

Whatever the case, I am sure SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR director Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are enjoying the boost for their film. And I am sure Eva Green just got a whole lot of new fans. Check out the before and after comparison of the posters below. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR hits theaters on August 22nd.
