A24 will be releasing the sci-fi-action-comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All at Once on March 25th, and today we’ve gotten our hands on the film’s trailer to offer a preview of the craziness this film has in store for us. Directed by Swiss Army Man‘s Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert – a filmmaking duo known simply as The Daniels – the movie stars Michelle Yeoh as

an exhausted Chinese American woman who can’t seem to finish her taxes.

That’s the official synopsis for this “hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure”. Seriously, that’s all A24 wants us to know about Everything Everywhere All at Once. Thankfully, Entertainment Weekly gave more information in a recent write-up. They explained that Yeoh plays

Chinese immigrant Evelyn Wang, the stressed-out manager of a failing Los Angeles laundromat. She has a strained relationship with her queer daughter, a floundering marriage with her husband, and is attempting to sort out her byzantine taxes on top of all that. If you think that sounds like the set-up for a well-meaning but dull family drama, you’re putting your coins into the wrong washing machine. In the middle of an interview with IRS inspector Deirdre Beaubeirdra, Evelyn is enlisted to defeat an evil force that threatens an infinite number of universes.

Stephanie Hsu (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies), Jenny Slate (Obvious Child), Harry Shum Jr. (Crazy Rich Asians), James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China), and Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween) co-star.

Curtis plays IRS inspector Deirdre Beaubeirdra, and Entertainment Weekly mentioned that not only do Yeoh and Curtis have fight scenes that require wire-work, but at one point Yeoh’s character drops into a universe where she and Curtis are lovers – and they have hot dogs for fingers.

The Daniels produced Everything Everywhere All at Once with Mike Larocca, Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, and Jonathan Wang.

This appears to be the sort of movie I need to check out just to see how crazy it gets.
