It’s been a pretty good year for James Wan. With the massive success of THE CONJURING he continues to prove that there is an audience for horror, especially when done right. Thankfully, Wan and his co-writer Leigh Whannell are returning to the world of shadows and things that go bump in the night. In their latest, INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, they continue the story of the Lambert family and their battle with the supernatural.

When I sat down with both James and Leigh, we talked about their new spooky tale and some of the inspiration behind INSIDIOUS with the cult classic CARNIVAL OF SOULS. They also discussed this wild world they have created and the balance of coming up with something original, without scaring away audiences. And then there is the funny… we talk about the humor that can be found in CHAPTER 2. With all the spooky stuff going on there is more than enough to make you smile.

INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 opens this Friday the 13th! I can’t think of a better day to see it.
