Robert Zemeckis' time travel classic BACK TO THE FUTURE opened on July 3, 1985, and it's hard to believe it has been thirty years since the film first hit theaters. Hell, we're now in the same year as the "future" of the second installment! If that doesn't make you feel old, then I don't know what will. To mark the occasion, we have another JoBlo.com tribute video for you to check out that explores the making of the movie, and why it was such a huge hit with audiences and at the box office.

The sci-fi comedy spent eleven weeks at number one at the box office, and grossed over $380 million worldwide. Chump change you might say, but remember those are 1985 numbers, and adjusted for ticket price inflation, it pulled in almost $480 million domestically alone. The BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy is one of the most popular and revered film series of all time, and at least there is one movie franchise not getting the reboot treatment…for now, anyway.
