Experience and Power make up the themes in these new spots for The Master

THE MASTER hit theaters everywhere today and the consensus of the 87% positive reviews on RottenTomatoes.com is that the movie is smart, powerfully acted, beautifully filmed, and solidly engrossing, The Master extends writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s winning streak of challenging films for serious audiences.

Thematically, THE MASTER and THERE WILL BE BLOOD share a lot in common and those themes are never more apparent than in these two new TV spots. The ideas of “experience” and “power” pervade both films and the protagonists succumb to the pressure of seeking both. Paul Thomas Anderson may need to make one more film to round out this trilogy and who knows where he will go next.

If you get a chance to see THE MASTER, or if you have seen it already, share your thoughts on the film here. Is it truly deserving of the praise it is receiving? Does it seem like a shoe-in for an Oscar? Or did you absolutely hate it? Let us know in the comments below!
