Ezra Miller debunks rumors that The Flash will erase the Snyderverse

Rumors have begun to circulate that Warner Bros.’ upcoming release of The Flash would be retconning the previous DCEU films. This would essentially erase the “Snyderverse” and upset many fans who still hope that it can be restored and explored in other films. In a bid to debunk those rumors, The Flash star, Ezra Miller, is expressing that this “Snyderverse” erasure doesn’t appear to be the case.

A recent Reddit post points to Miller replying to the direct messages of a fan that expressed concern that The Flash would be “erasing Zack’s movies,” which fans have been calling the “Snyderverse.” Miller responded, explicitly, that this would not be happening by saying, “No power or force in any known megaverse would or could ever erase Zack Snyder’s mighty wrkz. You can take that quote. Take that to the bank, to the press, to the schools, to the military, and the other pillar of capitalism I’m forgetting cause of that thing where if you try to think of a group of things you always forget one of them.”

The reason the rumors have been popping up as of late is that Michael Keaton will be reprising his role as Batman in both The Flash and Batgirl. Even though Ben Affleck’s version of Batman is also expected to appear in The Flash in some capacity, fans are still worried that Warner Bros. is making moves to move on from Zack Snyder’s era of DC films. Fans will have to take Miller’s word for it until we get further confirmation on the matter.

The Flash is reportedly inspired by the fan-favorite “Flashpoint” comic book storyline that sees the character travel back in time to prevent his mother’s murder to only “inadvertently create another universe.” The movie will explore the idea of a “multiverse” existing with the DC Cinematic Universe which allows Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne to return. Ezra Miller is once again playing the title character and the cast also includes Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdu, and Ron Livingston.
