Film Fiend: Felissa Rose, Sally Kirkland join cast of stalker thriller

Genre icon Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and the prolific Sally Kirkland, who earned a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination for her performance in the 1987 film Anna, have joined the cast of the thriller Film Fiend, Deadline reports. Film Fiend is currently in production in California.

Starring newcomer Ollie Ameera, the film has the following synopsis:

Gary Augustyn begins to blur reality with his twisted love of classic horror films and obsession for the late-night horror personality Dara, beginning to stalk her and slowly dragging her into his sick web of madness for a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Also in the cast are Erik Anthony Russo (Ebola Rex), Samantha Wolf (The Girl on the Mountain), newcomer Drew Eash, Deborah Dutch (Hard to Die), Dawna Lee Heising (Amityville Karen), and Vida Ghaffari (Horndogs Beach Party), with Sparkle Soojian (Last Roommate: The New Seduction) as Dara.

Michael S. Rodriguez is directing Film Fiend from a screenplay by Lee Turner. Turner previously co-wrote TheCampusHouse.com and Rattlers 2. He’s also a presenter on the horror host show After Hours Cinema. Rodriguez’s directing credits include Last American Horror Show, Last American Horror Show: Volume II, Like a Shadow, and Lake of Shadows.

Rodriguez is also producing Film Fiend with Joseph Kelbie Williamson and MSR Studios.

Including this movie, Kirkland now has 270 screen credits on her IMDb filmography. Rose and Heising are gaining on her, with 159 and 189 credits, respectively. Dutch’s list of 85 credits is also quite impressive. Even if a lot of the projects on those lists aren’t great, I admire the work ethic.
