You cats heard of this 3D flick THE WITCHES OF OZ? No? Don’t sweat it, I got you!

The movie comes by way of writer/director Leigh Scott, the man who has brought us FRANKENSTEIN REBORN, DRACULA’S CURSE and the TV remake of H.P. Lovecraft’s THE DUNWICH HORROR. This time out, Scott not only wrote and directed, he shot, edited and produced THE WITCHES OF OZ. This flick’s clearly his baby!

Obviously playing on the Victor Fleming classic, THE WITCHES OF OZ follows the exploits of the grown Dorothy Gale, now a successful children’s book author, as she moves from Kansas to present day New York City. Dorothy quickly learns that her popular books are based on repressed childhood memories, and that the wonders of Oz are very, very real. When the Wicked Witch of the West shows up in Times Square, Dorothy must find the inner courage to stop her.

Pretty fascinating spin on one of the most popular flicks ever made, don’t ya think? Not sold on the more fantastical elements? Rest assured, with additional titles like FLU BIRD HORROR, HILLSIDE CANNIBALS and TRANSMORPHERS under his belt, we should have plenty of horrific shite to look forward to.

Moreover, the flick has a pretty rad cast going for it. Who more do you need than Jeffrey Combs, Christopher Lloyd, Lance Henriksen, Jason Mewes, Mia Sara (Sloan from FERRIS BUELLER), and the uber-hottie that is Sasha Jackson? Good foundation, right? You bet your ass it is!

Paulie Rojas, Billy Boyd, Noel Thurman, Eliza Swenson, Al Snow, Jordan Turnage, Jessica Sonneborn, Marissa Smoker and Elizabeth Masucci also star.

THE WITCHES OF OZ 3D comes out sometime this summer. Check out the first high-def BTS video below!
