With CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER currently filming, our first look at the Winter Soldier costume in action has come online and it is not much different than the concept art revealed earlier this month. In fact, the above concept art could practically be a poster for the movie.
Sebastian Stan played Bucky Barnes in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and has returned to play his villainous alter ego in THE WINTER SOLDIER. Those familiar with the comics know that this character has a great deal of potential and will continue to take Marvel’s Phase Two into a much darker place. I like the look of the costume and hope it is not abandoned early on as it creates a nice air of mystery in the film.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER picks up where MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.
So far, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER looks like it is taking all of the right steps to make the sequel better than the original. THE FIRST AVENGER was my favorite Phase One movie and I hope the second integrates Cap into our modern society. Between the set pics of Falcon and now these, my expectations are still high.
