First official cast photo of Red Dawn’s new Wolverines

JoBloJoBlo

I kind of forgot that the RED DAWN remake was still on its way as we haven’t heard anything from it/about it in quite some time due to MGM’s troubles, but as a reminder that it does exist, we have this first official cast photo.

It’s the Wolverines in all their Swayze-less glory, and it almost reads a hot list of up and coming young actors and actresses. We’ve got Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Edwin Hodge and Alyssa Diaz and a few more I can’t place.

You’ll recall that the Russian threat has been replaced by the Chinese, and I have a pretty hard time imagining that this is going to come out without pissing a lot of people off. Yes, it’s fiction, but at least when they were killing Russians in the original, it was technically white people killing white people. Now it’s white people killing asians (and vice-versa), which society will inevitably diagnose as worse.

I am curious to see how this is going to turn out, as the original film is one of my favorite “Awfully Good” selections, and the entire thing was filmed not that many miles away from me in Michigan.

WOLVERINES!
