Forget Scary Movie, check out the trailer for A Haunted House starring Marlon Wayans

With SCARY MOVIE 5 in production, I bet you thought you would only have to endure one parody movie this year? Well, here comes another one. From Marlon Wayans comes A HAUNTED HOUSE, which is focusing entirely on the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY/found footage horror film.

Starring Wayans, Cedric the Entertainer, and Nick Swarsdon, A HAUNTED HOUSE did make me chuckle a few times. I will admit the first SCARY MOVIE did as well. The problem with SCARY MOVIE is that it ended up being the same jokes over and over again. A HAUNTED HOUSE actually looks to have a little freshness to it. Plus it doesn’t jump around to a thousand different spoofs in ninety minutes. Focusing on mocking PARANORMAL ACTIVITY may be the one saving grace this movie has to offer.

The movie is clearly trying too hard in some places and relying on fart jokes, but the eleven year old in me cannot help but laugh. I doubt I will see this in the theater, but it may be worth my time on DVD.

A HAUNTED HOUSE opens on January 11th, 2013.
