We've been tracking the development of SyFy's 12 Monkeys series for well over a year now. The last update on the project brought us the very first trailer for intriguing series, and now, roughly 3 weeks later, we have some fresh casting info. Check it…

TV Line has it that a foursome of actors have landed recurring roles on 12 Monkeys. Word is Lyriq Bent (SAW IV, seen right) has been cast as Dr. Henri, a brilliant and cutting edge virologist, while Todd Stashwick (The Originals, The Riches) will play Deacon, the cunning leader of a brutal band of scavengers in the year 2043 called The West 7. Deacon amassed his followers with a “survival of the fittest” attitude… and by burning down the last few government quarantine zones.

Additionally, Demore Barnes and Romina D'Ugo have also been cast in the show. Barnes will play Whitley, one of the last remaining soldiers of the American military in 2043. There, he has vowed to protect the Temporal Facility that house’s mankind’s last home for salvation — Project Splinter. D'Ugo (below) will portray Max, a survivor in the truest sense who grew up in the post-apocalypse and never knew the time before the plague.

The new additions join Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, Noah Bean and Kirk Acevedo. 12 Monkeys looks to premiere on SyFy this January.
