Lucifer Fox

Fox might have a surprise success with their series adaptation of The Exorcist, but that doesn't mean they're giving up on the devil. They've just given Lucifer a full order for its second season, expanding it by 9 episodes to reach a full 22.

Says Fox Broadcasting president David Madden

Lucifer continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes. We’d like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humor and a great deal of humanity. Our thanks also go out to the production crew — Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy — who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.

The show revolves around:

Lucifer (Tom Ellis), who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer also stars Lauren German (“Chicago Fire”) as Chloe Dancer, an LAPD homicide detective who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer; Lesley-Ann Brandt (“Spartacus”) as Lucifer’s best friend Maze, a fierce demon who takes the form of a human woman; Nicholas Gonzalez (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Dan, an LAPD homicide detective wary of Lucifer; D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, an angel sent to L.A. to persuade Lucifer to return to hell; and Rachael Harris as Linda, Lucifer’s therapist.

Lucifer airs on Fox Mondays at 9PM.
