A new FRIDAY THE 13th film is in the works and David Bruckner, the helmer of the "Amateur Night" segment of V/H/S, is the man being eyed to helm it, according to The Wrap.

Plot details are being kept secret; it's unclear whether or not this will have anything to do with the remake from 2009, although Platinum Dunes' Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing for Paramount.

The plan is to release the film on March 13, 2015. Less than a year away.

In addition to V/H/S, Bruckner was one of three directors on 2007's THE SIGNAL. The fact that he's worked in the found footage genre might lend some weight to the rumor that the latest FRIDAY THE 13th flick will be shot POV-style. Guess it remains to be seen.
