If your at all like us guys here at AITH, you know about the Australian action-drama flick GABRIEL that’s going to be coming out soon. The Arrow even saw it fit to take note and single out the flick with a special mention. Now we’ve been keeping you updated on it’s status, with the trailer and news that it was being released here in the US at some point.

Well Moviehole.net scored the good word on when exactly we’ll be seeing GABRIEL. It was released last month in Australia and until now there was no word on a release date here in the US. Or if it was going to be direct-to-dvd or theatrical for that matter. Well Moviehole.net reports that GABRIEL will be hitting DVD shelves here in the US on February 19, 2008.

Just in case your not aware of what’s going on, the synopsis for GABRIEL is: There is a struggle between Arc and Fallen angels for control of Purgatory and its population of re-born souls. At present, darkness rules and Gabriel (Whitfield), the last of the seven Arcs sent to return light to the city, must assume human form for the first time. Purgatory’s underworld is dangerous and seedy, and Gabriel must hide his powers in order to survive. In the darkest place of the human soul, this lone arc angel’s battle with his human feelings and emotions will prove as perilous as facing the Fallen angels.

It’s written by Shane Abbess and Matt Hylton Todd, with Abbess also directing. It stars Andy Whitfield, Dwaine Stevenson, Samantha Noble, Erika Heynatz (below), Michael Piccirilli, and Harry Pavlidis. I’m definately looking forward to this one. You can head to the official site over here. Anyone know what that rock song is that plays as soon as you enter the site? I looked and couldn’t find anything. So much for V CAST Song ID huh? Check out the flashy site and you can also see the trailer below with an intro by Andy Whitfield.
