One movie I wasn’t paying much attention to until a couple weeks ago is Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor’s GAMER. As soon as I seen that trailler at the beginning of BRUNO I was stoked though! Now why haven’t I been following this one? Well firstly because it seemed like it was taking forever to come out. I remember hearing about this one months ago and then nothing. Secondly my first impression of GAMER was way off! I was thinking a kind of ‘dude-gets-stuck-in-a-video-game’ thing instead of the awesome virtual reality thing they’ve got going on.

The clip features stars Gerard Butler and Logan Lerman in the moment where Butler’s ‘Kable’ meets his controller: Lerman’s ‘Simon.’ GAMER looks like it’s jam packed with action and topped with everything else! Looks like we got a solid story behind this one along with a grade A cast including Butler, Lerman, John Leguizamo, Alison Lohman (below), Milo Ventimiglia, Keith David, Aaron Yoo, Zoe Bell, Kyra Sedgwick, Terry Crews, Amber Valletta, Efren Ramirez and Ludacris. That story I mentioned basically reads: Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player (Butler) from a game called “Slayers” looks to regain his independence while taking down the game’s mastermind (Hall).
GAMER seems to fit into several categories of action movie so it’d be hard not to get excited for this one! Go ahead and check out the newest clip for the movie, titled ‘It’s Cool, Yeah?,’ below and get ready for GAMER to hit theaters everywhere on September 4th!
