A couple days ago PJ told you all about the new project involving the GHOSTBUSTERS. No, not a sequel to GHOSTBUTERS 2.. well.. it kind of is. You see, Vivendi Games and Sony Pictures are going to be bringing us a GHOSTBUSTERS video game, taking place after the events of GHOSTBUSTERS 2. The kicker? The game will star the voices of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson! Not to mention the fact that Aykroyd and Ramis are writing the script for the game.
Well we were all under the impression that this was new information, but apparently it’s been in the works for a little while already! Above and below are screenshots from the game and even some footage from G4TV!
The footage looks pretty great. It’s a next gen game coming out on the PC, X-Box 360, and PS3 with alternate versions being released for other consoles apparently. The idea is that your a new recruit into the Ghostbusters and you have to help the gang fight off the newest supernatural enemy the city of New York is facing. So it’s basically an interactive GHOSTBUSTERS 3? Oh I’m down for that!
The screenshots look awesome, as does the footage, which shows some proton beam action. From the looks of things, somehow your going to revisit the events of at least the first film. From the screenshots it looks like you relive the fights against Stay Puft and Slimer. No idea how that ties into the new plot, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
