Writer/director David Kerr managed to raise over $35,000 on Indiegogo to help fund his upcoming horror invasion slasher Go Away, which is now in post-production. While the finishing touches are being put on the film, a trailer has been released online and can be seen in the embed above.

Kerr’s intention with this movie was to pit “old school vs. new school in an intruder film with a twist” – and it caught our attention here on Arrow in the Head with the fact that it stars Thom Mathews (The Return of the Living Dead, Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI), Tuesday Knight (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), L.C. Holt (You’re Next), and Robert Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses).

Here’s the synopsis:

A group of friends take a trip to visit a someone they haven’t seen in years. When they arrive at her remote home in the woods, their dinner is interrupted by a knock at the door. 5 masked strangers have arrived with the intention of playing a deadly game with the guests.

That’s a fine set-up for some horror, and we’ve seen similar set-ups result in good movies like You’re Next, The Strangers, and Ils/Them. When you combine that set-up with Go Away‘s cast of genre regulars and icons, we should get something quite entertaining. Although I have to admit that I was disappointed by the image quality and production value on display in the trailer. Maybe it will end up looking better by the time post-production is over. Even it doesn’t, I’d still watch the movie just to see the cast in action.

Kerr previously directed Curse of the Slasher Nurse, Return of the Slasher Nurse, and Bloody Summer Camp.
