Olatunde Osunsanmi may be best known to genre fans as the cat who helmed the Milla Jovovich-starring alien abduction thriller THE FOURTH KIND. Now The Hollywood Reporter is sharing that Gold Circle Entertainment has pre-emptively picked up Osunsanmi’s sci-fi spec script EDEN, with the man himself set to direct.
The script is a modernized take on the Underground Railroad with aliens as the oppressors instead of other humans. Osunsanmi’s story follows a family on the run and trying to get to a free city.
Gold Circle’s Paul Brooks will produce with the company’s COO Scott Niemeyer and SVP Production Guy Danella executive producing.
Osunsanmi is coming off directing EVIDENCE, a crime thriller starring Stephen Moyer and Radha Mitchell that was picked up by Image Entertainment at SXSW this month. Image will release that film later this year.
