Director Joe Dante’s 1984 film Gremlins (watch it HERE) was one of the most popular movies of the ’80s and remains a beloved classic to this day. But six years later, Dante was given full rein to make Gremlins 2: The New Batch (watch that one HERE), a divisive sequel that is so bugnuts insane there was even a sketch that imagined what the Gremlins 2 brainstorming session must have been like on the Key & Peele comedy show. Still, there are a whole lot of fans who love and appreciate Gremlins 2‘s brand of insanity, and among them is our own Lance Vlcek – which is why he has dedicated the latest episode of the video series The Black Sheep to The New Batch. Check it out in the embed above!

Scripted by Charles S. Haas, Gremlins 2: The New Batch has the following synopsis:

The magical collectibles store that Gizmo calls home has just been destroyed, and the tiny monster finds his way into a newly erected skyscraper. Billy Peltzer and his bride-to-be, Kate, who have previously dealt with Gremlins run amok, discover that Gizmo and an impish legion of reptilian pals are inhabiting the downtown building. The couple tries to stop the creatures from escaping into New York City, but this new batch of beasts might be uncontrollable.

The film stars Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Haviland Morris, John Glover, Robert J. Prosky, Robert Picardo, Christopher Lee, Dick Miller, Jackie Joseph, and Keye Luke.
