Three Fun Halloween Horror Movies! 13 Ghosts and more!

Looking for some fun horror movies to watch this Halloween season? We have three recommendations for you in the video embedded above, which combines episodes of the shows The Black Sheep and The Best Movie You Never Saw that were produced for our YouTube channels. In this video’s 24 minutes, we’ll tell you exactly why you should seek out the 2001 film Thirteen Ghosts, Dreamscape from 1984, and 1982’s Halloween III: Season of the Witch – which was once the black sheep of the Halloween franchise, but has been gaining in popularity year by year.

Directed by Steve Beck, Thirteen Ghosts is a remake of a 1960 William Castle film. With a cast that includes Tony Shalhoub, Embeth Davidtz, Matthew Lillard, and Shannon Elizabeth, it tells the following story:

A family inherits a spectacular old house from an eccentric uncle. There’s just one problem: the house seems to have a dangerous agenda all its own. Trapped in their new home by strangely shifting walls, the family encounters powerful and vengeful entities that threaten to annihilate anyone in their path.

Dreamscape was directed by Joseph Ruben and stars Dennis Quaid, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer, Eddie Albert, Kate Capshaw, David Patrick Kelly, and George Wendt. The synopsis:

A government funded project looks into using psychics to enter people’s dreams, with some mechanical help. When a subject dies in his sleep from a heart attack Alex Gardner becomes suspicious that another of the psychics is killing people in the dreams somehow and that is causing them to die in real life.

Tommy Lee Wallace directed Halloween III: Season of the Witch, which stars Stacey Nelkin, Dan O’Herlihy, and the legendary Tom Atkins. Ditching Michael Myers, this one goes off in its own direction:

Hospital emergency room doctor Daniel “Dan” Challis and Ellie Grimbridge, the daughter of a murder victim, uncover a terrible plot by small-town mask maker Conal Cochran, a madman who’s planning a Halloween mass murder utilizing an ancient Celtic ritual. The ritual involves a boulder stolen from Stonehenge, the use of Silver Shamrock masks and a triggering device contained in a television commercial – all designed to kill millions of children.
