Update: Early Monday afternoon, a report from Variety stated that Harrison Ford said that filming would begin on a fifth Indiana Jones movie next week, this was a misquote on Variety's behalf. As per the correction, what Ford actually said was that filming will begin next year. We apologize for any confusion this might have caused. We were just as dumb-founded as you were, trust me.

Original Article:

If you were one of the lucky people to attend the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, located within Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California on May 31st, you might have caught a glimpse of Han Solo actor Harrison Ford, who was there to enjoy and promote the attraction's weekend launch. Among the new park's many rides, eateries, and accommodations, is an experience that simulates what it's like to cruise around in the Millennium Falcon, the modified YT-1300 Corellian light freighter made famous by George Lucas' beloved space saga. When summing up his experience with the ride to Variety, Ford simply stated that he thought the attraction was "incredible," therefore stamping his personal seal of approval on the park's Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run.

“I think it works better than the one we used to use for the movies,” Ford said winkingly.

In addition to recently talking up Disney's Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, Ford was also prompted for an update on Steven Spielberg's Untitled Indiana Jones Project while attending Sunday's premiere for THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2. Rather enthusiastically, the Indy top-liner told Variety that the film “should be starting to shoot sometime next year.” Ford was also quick to add that he's "looking forward to it," and that "things are coming along well."

The filming start for Indy 5 may come as a surprise to some who've been following along with the projects many delays. Last summer, Disney moved the film's release by a year to Summer 2021, indicating that several pieces of the puzzle had yet to fall into place. In fact, there was even a time when rumors were circulating that Ford was to be replcaed with a newer, younger model, such as Chris Pine. However, Ford put that hearsay to bed in May of this year, when he appeared on the Today Show and said that "Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones." He then said, half-jokingly, "Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy."

While I don't know if Ford gets to make that call for the character, it would seem as if the Indy alum has at least one more adventure left in him before retiring his signature hat and bullwhip.

For now, it sounds as if filming for Spielberg's Untitled Indiana Jones Project will begin next week, with plans to release the film in theaters on July 9, 2021.
