Did you know Buddy Holly is alive? Well apparently he is. And he’s about to tell Jon Heder he’s the only one that can stop an alien invasion. Well something like that…
I’m talking about the flick ALIVE AND WELL, the upcoming adaptation of Bradley Denton’s sci-fi novel BUDDY HOLLY IS ALIVE AND WELL ON GANYMEDE. Well that’s a mouthful. The novel, and therefore film, revoles around Oliver Vale, an average geek whose uneventful life changes when Buddy Holly turns up on every TV channel and declares that Vale is the only one who understands why this is happening — which causes Vale to be pursued by a mob of disguised aliens.
Variety dropped the good word that Heder (below) has signed on to play Vale, with plans to shoot the adaptation when he’s not working on his untitled Comedy Central sitcom. Robert Rugan adapted the script and will be directing with Dahlia Street Films’ Molly Mayeux and Michael Hennessy producing. Caspian Pictures’ Brian Bullock will executive produce.
Now I haven’t read, nor ever heard of, BUDDY HOLLY IS ALIVE AND WELL ON GANYMEDE so I can only hope there’s some twisted science fiction in there somewhere. Has anyone read the book? What can we expect with this one? And who do you think they’ll tap to play Mr. Holly? We’ll keep an eye out on any other news for ALIVE AND WELL so keep it here for updates.
