Holy steampunk, Batman! DC releases full Gotham by Gaslight trailer!

DC’s latest straight-to-DVD animated movie is here, and it’s the classic one-off Elseworld’s tale BATMAN: GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT. Drawn by HELLBOY’s Mike Mignola and written by Brian Augustyn, GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT told the tale of how Batman beat up and solved the Jack the Ripper case. I mean, I don’t know why people say it’s unsolved.

Anyway, while the animation looks solid, it does unfortunately pale in comparison to Mignola’s stylish art. It’ll also always be jarring not hearing Kevin Conroy, but it makes sense given this is an Elseworld’s tale, and Bruce Greenwood has already done fine work in UNDER THE HOOD. I’m looking forward to this one.
