Horror Movie Hotties: The Shallows (2016)

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

You have to admit THE SHALLOWS (which was just released on Blu-ray) was a pretty solid concept for a film about captivity. Typically, movies about being "stuck" in one location often take place indoors in order to achieve that feeling of isolation. On the other hand, THE SHALLOWS is set on a grogeous beach in Mexico (though it was actually shot in Australia). And instead of long stretches of dreadful silence and inaction, those moments are filled up with (dun dun DUNNN) shark attacks! In other words, it took a simple idea like PHONE BOOTH or Ryan Reynold's BURIED and actually made it kind of fun. Of course, the odds are always in your favor when you have Blake Lively wearing a bikini throughout most of your movie. There you have it, I've just given Deadpool two reasons to come find me and kick my ass. Enjoy!
