Word has been going around that a new trailer for ALIEN: COVENANT would be attached to this weekend's release of LOGAN, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine swan song, but if you don't want to wait to see the trailer on the big screen you are in luck. 20th Century Fox has announced that they will dropping the trailer online tomorrow.

Fox isn't even going to make us wait that long before giving us some fresh ALIEN: COVENANT goodness – the trailer announcement was accompanied by a new poster for the film. The poster doesn't even feature the film's title, but I think the imagery is iconic enough that most people will be able to figure out why it's advising them to hide.

Probably not quite as many people who knew what the previous poster was telling them to run from, though.

Set ten years after PROMETHEUS and twenty years before ALIEN, ALIEN: COVENANT is directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay by Michael Green, Jack Paglen, and John Logan. The synopsis:

The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world.  When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, James Franco, and Noomi Rapace star. Guy Pearce has been rumored to make an appearance as well.

ALIEN: COVENANT is scheduled to reach theatres on May 19th. Not only do we have another trailer and probably more posters to look forward to before then, but there might also be more prologue shorts like LAST SUPPER on the way.
