Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer starring Chris Evans finally sets release date

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Nearly 18 months after The Weinstein Company acquired Bong Joon-ho's SNOWPIERCER and all the bullshit that went along with it, the film will finally be seeing the light of day in limited theaters on June 27th! The good news is that it is being released by Radius-TWC who tend to put their releases out on the same day on VOD. So if you don't live near a major market showing SNOWPIERCER you will at least be able to catch it at home on VOD; which isn't such a bad thing considering your chances of sitting next to some slob, who is much more excited about his snacks than the film, drop drastically.

Based on the French graphic novel "Le Transperceneige," SNOWPIERCER is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snow Piercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.

SNOWPIERCER stars Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Brewmner, Alison Pill, John Hurt and Ed Harris.
