Well folks we knew Guillermo del Toro was gearing up to produce an adaptation of the classic BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tale and now it’s official! But he’s not just producing anymore!
According to Variety Warner Bros. have officially tapped del Toro to direct their adaptation, which will be titled BEAST. They’ve also gone and hired Andrew Davies to pen the script for the film, which HARRY POTTER thesp Emma Watson is being eyed to star in. Actually she’s in final negotiations. About time Watson moves on from that POTTER stuff! Can’t wait to see her dive into our genre! Let’s just hope this BEAST is dark and twisted!
DiNovi Pictures’ Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan will be producing with del Toro, who will be writing the treatment in which Davies will work from.
