If this news turns out to be true, INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 might have some really weird, kinky shit in it.
The Hollywood Reporter claims Charlotte Gainsbourg is in talks to join the Roland Emmerich-directed sequel. She would join Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher.
Gainsbourg is best known (in recent years) for baring her soul – and much more – in the Lars Von Trier films ANTICHRIST, MELANCHOLIA and NYMPHOMANIAC. In other words, INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 is about a million miles away from her comfort zone (and what a weird comfort zone it is) as you can get. And perhaps that’s why she’d decide to do such a project.
INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 will be released by 20th Century Fox on June 24, 2016.
