Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone reboot adds Kumail Nanjiani

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Throughout the past few months, casting has really heated up for Jordan Peele's upcoming CBS All Access reboot of THE TWILIGHT ZONE. First, we scored word that ALIEN VS PREDATOR star Sanaa Lathan had joined the cast, and her announcement was quickly followed by the killer news that Adam Scott (PIRANHA 3D) has joined as well, playing in the remake of the classic episode "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet."

And the cast just keeps on a-growing as today we have word via The Wrap that Kumail Nanjiani will be entering Peele's TWILIGHT ZONE as well. Not much is known about his role or the episode in which he'll star, but we do know it's penned by Alex Rubens (KEY & PEELE, COMMUNITY).

Nanjiani is perhaps best known for his role as Dinesh on Mike Judge and HBO's hit comedy series SILICON VALLEY. But I know the man best from his roles as a terrible customer service rep/waiter on Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's sketch comedy series PORTLANDIA. But on top of those roles, Nanjiani has also starred in some horror-comedy flicks and shows such as HELL BABY, BAD MILO, GOOSEBUMPS, and even THE X-FILES.

FUN TRIVIA: Peele and Nanjiani have worked together before when Nanjiani played "College Kid #1" in an episode of Peele's classic sketch comedy series KEY & PEELE on Comedy Central.

CBS Television Studios in association with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films produces this new series with Peele and Kinberg serving as executive producers along with Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Carol Serling, Rick Berg, and Greg Yaitanes. Peele will also narrate this new take. The new series is eyeing a debut in 2019. How excited are you for Jordan Peele's TWILIGHT ZONE? Let us know below!
