Lionsgate picks up Ian Fried’s supernatural pitch Pentacle

Lionsgate and Roy Lee’s Vertigo Entertainment have begun the process of setting up supernatural horror flick PENTACLE, based on a pitch from Black List scribe Ian Fried. Fried is the screenwriter behind SPECTRAL, which is about a SWAT team that takes on ghosts in Manhattan. That flick will be released in August by Legendary Pictures.

No story details are forthcoming, but according to Wikipedia, a pentacle is “an amulet used in magical evocation, generally made of parchment, paper or metal (although it can be of other materials), on which the symbol of a spirit or energy being evoked is drawn.”
