Fox has found the devil it was looking for.

Welshman Tom Ellis (“Rush”) has been cast in the network’s “Lucifer”, the new supernatural series based on the DC Comics character originally created (in comic form that is) by Neil Gaiman.

The TV series centers on Lucifer, who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Fox only just gave the show an official pilot order two weeks ago. Len Wiseman is directing the pilot, as well as producing. Jerry Bruckheimer is executive producer. Tom Kapinos penned the first episode.
