Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Last week, actress Vera Farmiga revealed that her character in GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, TRICK 'R TREAT director Michael Dougherty's sequel to the 2014 American GODZILLA film, is a paleobiologist who finds a way to communicate with Godzilla and the other giant monsters. She's playing Dr. Emma Russell, and the character featured in the first clip to be released from KING OF THE MONSTERS is Emma's daughter Madison, played by Millie Bobby Brown of the Netflix series Stranger Things.

In this clip, embedded below, Madison is trying to get in contact with Monarch, the organization that was introduced in GODZILLA and appeared again in KONG: SKULL ISLAND. It's not clear what's going on with Madison here, but whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be a good situation for her.

Written by Dougherty and his KRAMPUS co-writer Zach Shields, KING OF THE MONSTERS follows

the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

When these ancient super-species — thought to be mere myths — rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Farmiga and Brown are joined in the cast by Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Zhang Ziyi, Aisha Hinds, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Randy Havens, Jonathan Howard, Anthony Ramos, Bradley Whitford, and Elizabeth Ludlow, with Jason Liles, Richard Dorton, and Alex Maxson providing the motion capture performances for the three heads of King Ghidorah.

The film is scheduled to reach theatres on May 31, 2019.
