It seems we’ve been getting updates on a potential reboot of the classic televison show “The Munsters” for a while now. Actually we usually get an update on the project around the same time every year, minus 2009, with this year being no different. Thankfully this newest “Munsters” update has absolutely nothing to do with The Wayans Brothers. So you can go ahead and rest easy folks…

No, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Ausiello Files the ones behind this latest “Munsters” talk are NBC and “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller. Contrary to the dreaded Wayans Brothers project this new installment of “The Munsters” is actually screaming with potential! According to The Ausiello Files not only are they describing this new project as “Modern Family” meets “True Blood” but word has it none other than the great Guillermo del Toro is eyeing a behind-the-scenes role in the series! Doesn’t that man have enough on his plate? Jeez!

While del Toro’s involvement is anything but confirmed the fact that NBC has ordered a pilot of Fuller’s “The Munsters” is. Unfortuantely no other details on the project are given but as always as soon as we hear more we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you!
