Neill Blomkamp teases new, non-Alien movie

Neill Blomkamp's ALIEN project might have been shelved thanks to Ridley Scott's ALIEN: COVENANT, merging the PROMETHEUS and ALIEN franchises in earnest, but that doesn't mean the DISTRICT 9 and ELYSIUM director is sitting quietly, twiddling his thumbs. The director just took to Instagram to tease his newest project with an image of an in-development effect,

Although we have no details other than that the film isn't related to ALIEN, it looks like it could either be a deformed alien face or some DISTRICT 9-esque body horror, twisting a human form into a disgusting caricature. So it's definitely very much in his wheelhouse of sci-fi high concept work. We'll share more details as they arrive, though there's not much to hold onto at the moment.
