Netflix releases a trailer for I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House

Osgood Perkins, the son of PSYCHO star Anthony Perkins, made his feature directorial debut with the horror/thriller THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER (formerly known as FEBRUARY), but thanks to delays that have pushed that film back to an unspecified 2017 release date, a wide audience is going to have access to his sophomore directorial effort I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE first.

I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE will be available through Netflix's streaming service as of October 28th, just in time for Halloween, and with its release just days away the company has unveiled a trailer for the film.

This Perkins-helmed horror story is

about a young nurse named Lily who is hired as caretaker for an elderly best-selling author of ghost stories as she lives out her final days in her beloved country home. The only problem is that the home is host to a horrific ghost story of its own.

Ruth Wilson, Debbie Harry, Bob Balaban, and Lucy Boynton star.

The trailer appears to confirm what you might have assumed from the title, that this haunted house story is going to have a bit of the arthouse flair to it. The film has an intriguing set-up and there is some nice, unsettling imagery on display in the trailer (the "spots" on the wall also showing up on people's flesh gets to me), so it looks like this is a movie that will be worth checking out this weekend.
