So what do you guys think about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return to Hollywood? Hell the man hasn’t been around a movie camera in years (san THE EXPENDABLES of course) and he’s already got a starring gig in Kim Jee-Woon’s THE LAST STAND. Not too shabby, eh?
Well today’s article isn’t even about Schwarzenegger actually but instead is about his first co-star in sometime (once again sans THE EXPENDABLES). I’m talking about the great Peter Stormare, who Variety have just tapped to co-star alongside Arnie in THE LAST STAND.
Stormare (right) is in negotiations to play the villain of the film, ‘Burrell,’ a seasoned war veteran who carries out the main villain’s orders and leads an eight-man crew in taking on Schwarzenegger and his fellow officers.
Schwarzenegger stars as the sheriff of a sleepy little town who runs up against an escaped drug cartel leader heading for the Mexican border.
I’m a huge fan of Stormare’s, especially as a villain, so this is great news in this schmuck’s eyes. Hell I’m more excited about Stormare being in this thing than I am Schwarzenegger. THE LAST STAND already has a release date pegged of January 18, 2013 so expect a lot more LAST STAND updates in the coming year.
