Score! Zombie soccer from France to be known as Goal of the Dead!

Alright fellow soccer junkies if you’re got a taste for zombie flicks then prepared to be satisfied! Variety writes on HORDE makers coming up with a heart stopping zombie flick that revolves around this simple equation: Zombie + Soccer = GOAL OF THE DEAD!

Too true. Variety writes that GOAL OF THE DEAD is being played as a horror/comedy flick and will be a two-part feature with a $4.4-million budget. The film is also being distributed by The Capture the Flag company who helped kick off LA HORDE.

Scripted by Nicolas Peufaillit, it’s set in a small town where a major French soccer team is playing a match when an undead plague starts striking the residents.

I’ve wondered when this concept would eventually come out of hiding. There’s a cool game out there entitled PRO ZOMBIE SOCCER but that’s pretty much it for mainstream zombie/soccer mania.

How about it then folks? Human head as a soccer ball a ‘la HOSTEL PART II style? Personal foul from massive bite wounds? Red card that’s actually smeared with human blood? Oh the possibilities are endless. Just wait until you get into the strikers with soccer balls on fire. We’ll see what’s left of the walking dead when they bite into a Molotov Cocktail at 80 miles an hour. Just a thought. Anyone else revved up for this or is this just a pass?
