So how are you guys feeling about this Scott Derrickson found-footage flick? I want to be intrigued by it but I just can’t help but feel this whole ‘found-footage’ thing is drawing thin, you know what I mean? Hell this flick has been kicking around for a while now and it didn’t even have a title! Until today that is!
You see according to the guys over at ShockTillYouDrop this Untitled Scott Derrickson film will now go under the title SINISTER. No surprise there considering this one is coming from the producing team that brought us INSIDIOUS… but dare I say I’m digging it? I’m always a believer in less is more so I can dig on a one-word title, especially when that word is ‘sinister’.
Story centers on a journalist who travels with his family around the country to investigate gruesome murders he turns into books. After he moves his family into a house where another family was murdered, the journo discovers found footage that unveils horrifying clues beyond what caused the original tragedy.
Unfortunately the rundown for this thing doesn’t sound as cool as it’s title… Seems like we’ve seen this one before, right? I don’t know about the rest of you but I’ve been getting that feeling a lot these days.
Regardless SINISTER is coming our way soon with a cast that includes Ethan Hawke (above) and Juliet Rylance (below). We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more on this one as it’s set to start shooting next month so be sure to check back soon for updates.
