Tarantino announces next film will be about the Manson Family Murders!

UPDATE:

As I am typing this story out and a whole new blast of info has just hit and I'm just going to stick it in here all covert-like. Turns out Tarantino has already met with Margot Robbie to potentially play Sharon Tate. Samuel L. Jackson will likely also play a lead in the film and Brad Pitt is being sought to play the detective investigating the murder(s).

Quentin Tarantino has written his next film and it is all set to go! Yes, Tarantino is currently out and about, with the Weinstein brothers in tow, courting A-list actors to come on board his new film about… get this sh*t… THE MANSON FAMILY MURDERS!

Nice, right?! Makes total sense to me. The 60-70's. The music. The violence. The characters. The whole shebang. That said, somewhat surprisingly, this is Tarantino's first foray into content based on real life.

Now, I mean I knew this as I have all of his films staring down at me from the bookshelf as we speak, but I guess it never sunk in till now. Whatever. All the same, the new film is set to be a "unique take" on the Manson murders so who the hell knows what we might get in the end.

But I'm excited as hell to find out… Even after THE HATEFUL EIGHT. Ooh… I'm kidding.

Tarantino is evidently putting the finishing touches on the script and supposedly has roles in mind for Brad "Gorlami" Pitt and that Jennifer Lawrence chick and the current plan is to have the movie before cameras by next summer.

While no one knows just what this "unique take" will be, and what parts of the story will be told and untold, rumor has it that one of the stories – duh – centers on Sharon Tate, who was the pregnant wife of ROSEMARY'S BABY director Roman Polanski.

And supposedly Jennifer Lawrence is NOT being considered for Tate.

For the one guy out there that isn't familiar with even the broad strokes of the Manson Family Murders, I have included a brief rundown below. Everyone else can just head right over to social media and let us all know what YOU think of Tarantino taking on the Manson Murders on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Manson Family Murders rundown via THR:

Manson had ordered a group of his followers to attack the inhabitants of a house in the Benedict Canyon part of Los Angeles, believing it was owned by a record producer who earlier had rejected him. Over the course of several hours on the night of Aug. 8, the four followers, using guns and knives, brutally killed Tate, who was eight months pregnant, and four other occupants. In 1971, Manson and certain members of his crew were sentenced to life imprisonment for these and several other murders committed that summer.

We'll let you know as soon as we hear more on Quentin Tarantino's The Manson Family Murders (still currently untitled btw). Stay tuned.
