The Leatherface cast returned to Bulgaria for additional photography

Texas Chainsaw Massacre III

Even though INSIDE directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury's TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel LEATHERFACE wrapped production in Bulgaria around this time last year and the distribution rights are in the hands of Lionsgate, we haven't heard a peep about when the film might be getting released. Fans have been anxiously waiting to find out when we might get a chance to see the latest installment in the forty-two year old franchise... As it turns out, we haven't heard a release date because the filmmakers apparently aren't quite done putting the movie together.

Posts made to the Instagram accounts of producer Christa Campbell and stars Sam Strike, Vanessa Grasse, and Jessica Madsen indicate that the actors were back in Bulgaria just two weeks ago to work on some additional LEATHERFACE photography. Some select images from the shoot are included below.

Scripted by Seth M. Sherwood, LEATHERFACE has the following synopsis:

A young nurse is kidnapped by a group of violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.

James Bloor, Sam Coleman, Jessica Madsen, Lilli Taylor, Stephen Dorff, and Finn Jones star alongside Strike, Grasse, and Madsen.

The wait for a release date continues. Here's hoping that all filming is now complete.
