The new trailer for Amityville: The Awakening has moved in

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

In the wake of its mildly disappointing poster, AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING has now released a mildly disappointing trailer! To be fair, it looks like this film has the production value of the past four or five AMITYVILLES combined, but the trailer is so generic you could use it to play Blumhouse Bingo.

Ghostly apparitions centering around a creepy kid? Check. Creepy, probably unrelated demons roaming the halls? Check. Family moving into a new house? Random exposition from a high school classmate? A haunting centered on a recovering patient? Check, check, checkity check. It doesn't look bad, per se, just remarkably familiar. See the trailer for yourself below!

Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann, and Jennifer Morrison star in AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING, which opens April 1st. No, it's not a joke.
