It’s no secret that Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has plans to stamp his name into the horror genre with his banner Slasher Films, which he’s partnered with Michael Williams and Rob Eric for. We’ve already told you this shite. We’ve also given you an idea on some of the films Slash hopes to make under his new shingle… But the news breaking today over at Deadline New York is brand new so allow me to pass that shite right along to all of you!
According to Deadline veteran character actor Thomas Haden Church is circling one of Slasher Films’ projects. Actually it’s their first green-lit film! A little something called NOTHING TO FEAR. Want the rundown on this one? Of course you do. Check it:
The pic focuses on a family’s journey toward a better life, and how it is undone by a charismatic but unbalanced man of the cloth (Church). It’s based on an actual town purported to be one of the seven gateways to hell.
Sounds decent enough. And personally I’ve been a huge fan of Haden Church (above) since the 90s sitcom “Wings” so whenever the man wants to take a trip into our genre I’m more than happy to welcome him, as I’m sure most of you feel the same way. I mean come on… it’s Thomas Haden Church!
Mind you the actor isn’t officially signed to anything yet but hopefully all the I’s will be dotted soon. Anthony Leonardi, who served on the creative teams for flicks like PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD’S END, RANGO, CONSTANTINE and WATER FOR ELEPHANTS, will be making his directorial debut on NOTHING TO FEAR with a script from Jonathan W.C. Mills.
Lensing on NOTHING TO FEAR is set to kick-off next month in Louisiana so expect a lot more updates on this little diddy soon!
