Last month we told you about THE HOST 2, and how it looked like it was going to be a prequel.
Well today there’s news coming in from Twitch that THE HOST 2 will indeed be a prequel, taking place 3 years before the original. Apparently the film revolves around the excavation of the Cheonggye Stream – an ancient waterway running through Seoul that was recently reclaimed and restored after years of being covered by a highway – and will feature multiple monsters.
Sounds like it’ll work fine. Now I listened to the hype for THE HOST and didn’t think it lived up to it at all. Now you can scope out The Arrow’s review right over here. The monster was pretty cool (except for the whole.. swallowing thing.), so the idea of more of them is pretty intriguing.
Writer/director Bong Joon-Ho won’t be returning for this sequel, so it looks like this one is going to be much different. THE HOST 2 is being written by Kang Full and starts shooting in late 2008, with a 2009 release date planned. We’ll keep you updated.
