Hunger Games scribe Danny Strong to write Guys and Dolls remake for Fox

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Writer Danny Strong, who I will always know as Jonathan from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER has certainly gone on to bigger things. He’s still continued to act here and there but his most recent credits are as scribe on GAME CHANGE, Lee Daniels‘ THE BUTLER, THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY, and the latest in the Da Vinci code franchise, THE LOST SYMBOL.

Needless to say, he’s been busy.

Looks like he’s added another writing task to his list with a remake of GUYS AND DOLLS over at Fox. You remember that one from 1955 that starred Marlon Brandon and Frank Sinatra? You’ve gotta know the classic “Luck Be A Lady”, right? If you are still drawing a blank, here’s a refresher:

In the musical, Nathan Detroit has a town full of captive gamblers and wants to set up a floating crap game but needs money to do it. He bets his pal Sky Masterson that Sky can’t get the wholesome Sarah Brown— who runs a mission — to go with him to Havana.

Before Strong boarded the project, there was interest in Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (man, that guys busy!) as the two leads. There’s been no update on the possibility of that happening. Everyone from Hugh Jackman to Vin Diesel has been interested in this remake so definitely expect to see some names around this one.
