Idris Elba takes down bad guys with finesse in the Bastille Day trailer

Michael Mason (Richard Madden) is an American pickpocket living in Paris who finds himself in the hands of the CIA when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet. Sean Briar (Idris Elba), the field agent on the case, soon realizes that Michael is just a pawn in a much bigger game and is also his best asset to uncover a large-scale criminal conspiracy in the heart of the police force. What would be another run-of-the-mill action romp is elevated by the great Idris Elba in this trailer for BASTILLE DAY!

Mr. Elba is pretty boss all on his own, but throw a gun in the man’s hand and you have a must-see flick. I dig seeing Richard Madden outside of the Game of Thrones universe, and dare I say that he looks to have some solid chemistry with Elba, pseudo-American accent aside. BASTILLE DAY may not overtake the fortress of cinema (roll with me here), but it looks like it could pass for a fun hour and a half.

BASTILLE DAY will be released sometime this year.
