This new version which the MPAA has already slapped with an R-rating for "language, some violence, sexuality, and drug content" follows:

a man named Jacob Singer is finally getting his life back together after the death of his brother in Afghanistan. He has a beautiful wife, a newborn child, and a successful career as a surgeon in a VA hospital. When a stranger approaches him and tells him that his brother is actually alive and living in an underground shelter with other homeless vets, Jacob’s life starts to unravel. He begins hallucinating, starts to think he is being followed by violent attackers, and becomes paranoid about the truth of what really happened to his brother.

The original film was directed by Adrian Lyne (FATAL ATTRACTION) from a screenplay written by Bruce Joel Rubin (GHOST). Alan Marshall produced the movie which starred Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Peña, and Danny Aiello. TriStar Pictures unleashed the film into theaters back on November 2, 1990.

This new film hails from director David M. Rosenthal (THE PERFECT GUY) and screenwriters Jeff Buhler (MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, PET SEMATARY remake) and Sarah Thorp. The psychological horror remake stars Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams, Nicole Beharie, Karla Souza and Guy Burnet. It hits DISH exclusively on July 25th and will then be unleashed into theaters and onto VOD on August 23rd.
