James Marsden and Ben Schwartz talk Jim Carrey and Sonic the Hedgehog!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Can I be perfectly frank? The idea of a SONIC THE HEDGEHOG movie just didn’t excite me in any way, shape or form. However, I did end up going to what I thought would be a lame children’s flick, and I was beyond shocked at how entertaining this delightful feature was. You can start with a cast that offers up a couple of the most charismatic actors working today. Both Jim Carrey and James Marsden are absolutely terrific as the human elements of the story. And then there is Ben Schwartz who is absolutely perfect as the voice behind Sonic. Add to that an engaging script by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, as well as solid direction by Jeff Fowler, and you have an impressively enjoyable moviegoing experience.

Recently, we sat down with two of the stars of this cute and beyond cuddly flick, starting with one of the nicest actors working today. Marsden – who is way too good at talking to CGI creations – opened up about working on this particular feature. Considering the actor has charmed audiences in the past with his impressive comedic timing, it’s not terribly shocking he’s just great in this. And then there is Mr. Schwartz. Aside from being ridiculously talented, Ben is just a wonderful guy to chat with. He opened up about playing Sonic, he continued to praise Jim Carrey, and he appeared to be especially interested in my reaction to the movie – due to the fact I wasn’t a fan going in. So yeah, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG really is a whole lot of fun for the entire family, and it’s currently playing at a theatre near you. Check this little gem out!
